Cost of translation services
Our basic rate is 250 rubles per standart page (1800 symbols including punctuation marks and blanks) in source language. This implies simple text translated from English or German into Russian. At your choice, alternative billing bases may be applied, with respective rates being as follows:
- 7.0 EUR per equivalent page, or
- 0.025-0.03 EUR per word, or
- 0.25 EUR per equivalent line (55 symbols including punctuation marks and blanks).
Volume of work is typically based on MS WORD or TRADOS statistics.
Actual rate, however, may be influenced by a number of factors, including (but not limited to) the following:
Urgency
Typical productivity of a translator is ca. 7 equivalent pages a day. To cope with bigger job, we'll have to divide it among two or more translators (who, moreover, are not necessarily readily available). Additional editing may be nessessary to secure uniformity in style and terminology of a target document.
Form of a source document
Translation work is greatly facilitated by such aids as electronic dictionaries and translation memories, which are only accessible in word processors and the like programs. Handling hard copies or graphic files involves considerable extra efforts, and, consequently, extra charges. Abundance of sophisticated tables, text frames, images, etc., not only requires special skills, but also significantly affects work hours needed, and, therefore, the price of a job.
On the other hand, our regular customers may be offered discount prices depending on the volume of the work. Also, rates may be reasonably reduced if translation can be supported by customer-provided Translation Memory (TM) databases. In cases when the customer provides us relevant TM database compatible with Trados, Transit, or SDLX, we typically apply four-step pricing based on percentage of matching pairs:
- No match - 74% = 100%.
- (75 - 89%) = 75%.
- (90 - 99%) = 50%
- 100% + Repetitions = 25%
These quotations can be negotiable depending on ÒÌ quality and on the responsibility assigned on the translator.
HOW DO YOU PAY FOR THE TRANSLATION?
The agreed upon fee is payable after job acceptance to our bank account, or by postal order, or other mutually agreed upon way.
